The Store module has several options that allow you to record simple stock movements:
Items can be put into stock using the receive into stock option. Some sort of document (often called a stock credit) should be used to authorise the stock receipt. Each item can be stored in up to ten separate storage locations and a reference for the receipt can be recorded:
Items can be taken from stock using the issue from stock option. Once again a document (often called a stock requisition) should be used to authorise the stock movement. Each item is stored in up to ten separate storage locations and can be issued from any of these. A reference can be recorded for each issue:
If you need to move items from one stock location to another use the move stock option. This allows the stock to be moved between the ten stock locations as required, but does not allow the total number of items in stock to be altered:
As these stock transactions are performed, the various stockholding figures for the item are updated and the transactions recorded on the stock transactions file.
