If you're using standard costing then you need to keep your costs up to date.
The transfer costs option allows the standard, latest or average costs for a range of families to be transferred from one cost type to another. This would allow, for example, the current latest costs for a range of items to overwrite the standard costs:
To keep Herschel running quickly it's important to periodically delete old stock transactions.
The transfer transactions option analyses stock transactions in the store module and then deletes old transactions:
Any transactions that occur before or on a given date are broken down into monthly movements into and out of stock, as follows:
Movements Into Stock |
Movements Out Of Stock |
REC STOCK |
ISS STOCK |
STK ADJUST (+ve) |
STK ADJUST (-ve) |
PO RECVD |
SO DESP |
WO RECVD |
KIT ISSUE |
BACKFLUSH |
These movements are then transferred to the History module and the stock transactions deleted from the Store module. A summary report is produced. Optionally all transferred transactions can be listed if required for audit purposes. Note that the movements are valued at standard cost, using the standard cost that was current when the movement took place.
